My latest efforts are to firm up my TI's akas and amas so that there is minimal play/slop... especially in wavy chop.
Here are some of my ideas:
1) Upgrade ama bungees to thicker/stiffer cords... or straps...?
2) Use TI tramps strapped tightly around akas (unless it is too windy... Then, maybe use a couple of cargo straps to squeeze the akas together...?)
3) I finally realized I could tighten down the philips-headed set screws on each of the crossbeam openings. I think that helped, too. But they need to be loosened to release/remove the akas. (I then also discovered that it was easier to install/remove the tramp sleeves from the outer/bent end of the akas... Duh.)
What other ideas do you have to firm up the bounce/slop/play in your aka/amas?
Thanks.
