I have about 5' of coated chain shackled to the claw anchor and it's no problem at all. Just throw it in the small hobie drybag that comes with many of our boats. That usually sits on top of towels or some other padding in the hatch, so it's easy to reach. |

I will test the Cooper anchor on a "blowing like snot" day. If needed, will then try a rode weight or chain. |

ordered 2 of them and just missed FedEx delivery. Sonova... Well while waiting, will try to figure out if I need permanent setup for it somewhere or just tie it to the crossbars |

Got the TI out Saturday afternoon on tampa bay (sailed from Macdill to Beer Can Island) in a stiff breeze. Threw the Cooper and graghnel anchor (only line....no chain) a few times in both sand and mud. The graphnel dragged. .. Cooper held firm...both with similar scope let out (tested at 5 to 1...which is less than the 7 to 1 recommended. .. the more scope the better). Although the Cooper is a little larger, you don't have to screw with those damn folding flukes! ! One trick to get the Cooper (or any penetrating anchor) to set more firmly is to give the AI/TI a few pedal strokes once the anchor is set. .. this sets the anchor better and confirms you are not dagging.
