Puget, I don't think it's a coincidence that Vintagereplica is the only Australian sailor on this forum North of the Tropic of Capricorn. He's the only one left who hasn't been eaten. |

Chris, With Snappy the family pet in the back of the truck, I can see that Vintage is well protected. Puget |

I will continue my education program for the benefit of our American and Canadian friends. A vehicle like that (with croc leaning out whiffing the air like a dog) is called a "UTE" in Australia...incidentally, the design was invented in Australia...thought you blokes called them pick-ups. Trucks are big buggers for five ton loads and up. The ute is an Australian icon, and most young blokes (and not so young) eventually wind up with one...until a family comes along, thats when She who dominates the purse strings says...SELL IT!!! "Sellit??? "Yes sellit Cheers Vintagereplica ! |

Then UTE it is. I learn fast. But lately often forget faster. I will also remember that you came up with the idea. In the state of Washington, we have the Cascade Mountain range that runs N-S roughly down the middle. We lived for a decade on the east side: sage brush, cowboys, cows that go moo, and UTEs/pick-ups that are more common than cars. Then we lived for a decade on the west side: rain forest, salt water, Microsoft, and SUV's. So I had a UTE back then (I'll learn it if I keep sayin' it), but now I've got a soccer-mom's mini-van. I just want to know if I can get one of them Aussie family pets to sit on top of the van. There's some neighborhoods in Seattle where it would come in mighty handy. |

Actually Puget, Vintagereplica was a little hasty... "UTE" is short for "utility truck" but us Aussies don't like using long words as they let the flies in, so we shorten them |
