How do you adjust the peddles so they lock in to the hull securely. Or is the adjustment made to the mechanism on the boat? My older outback is difficult to lock in.

If the click and go lavers are too low... the spine may seat on the fore and aft ledges before getting all the way into the click and go. That is rare.

You may need to remove some material from the well if the spine is binding fore and aft.

More than likely it is technique though.

Depending on drive version, the drums can shift on the drumshaft. This will leave less shaft exposed on one side or the other, or a gap between the drums. Either of these will cause difficulty locking the drive.
