I got 11.2 20-second average yesterday along with brief glimpses of 11.5 along the way.

Is that knots (which I believe is the default setting for the speedpuck).

If knots... impressive!

Wow that is impressive. The fastest I've ever been was a brief 9 knots. I did see 7.3 last weekend on a broad reach with 4 people on board. I can't help but imagine what that speed would've been had it just been me. :D

Only in my dreams.

It is MPH.

But on a decent day, I see a lot of sustained low tens MPH-wise.

From about 10:00 to 15:00, this is what I call a decent day: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP ... JaRW5TYzBR

Somewhere in there, a single turn of reef gave better speed, but I backed out and re-reefed a couple times.

Low twenties MPH-wise seems to be the speed where a reef improves things.

Basically, the best days are the minimal wind for windsurfers to be having a good day.

More, and it just requires more-and-more reefing.

Once it gets into the thirties, I start thinking about how to get back on the beach.

That seems pretty close to my experience - 9 knots being 10.3 MPH.

As far as the 11.something MPH goes, I do not totally trust the SpeedPuck... and maybe it's just giving false readings sometimes.... but I do see enough low tens MPH-wise (i.e. 9 knots) to believe it.
