Hi guys has anyone noticed rust starting to show on the leg settings/holes of there mirage drive. The steel part that's sandwiched between the two sections of plastic?

I have what appears to rust on settings/holes 2,3,4,5 (both sides). My MD has been ringed in fresh water after every outing

I've also.noticed lots of rust on my cart all around the welds and no where else. Again always rinced and sprayed with Lenox

I never had any rust on my older MD

Stainless can rust. Machining tools can leave bits of carbon and if not passivated properly (removed / coated) it can cause surface rust. This is cosmetic and not rusting away the metal itself... and passes.

That said, if the material is rusting away or swelling, that would be a serious issue we need to know about. I will pass this on to engineering / suppliers to be sure they are processing the materials properly.

Hi Matt my main concern is the rust within my Mirage Drive. Here's a video

Can't really see it, but understand the location. Again... when parts are stamped, drilled or machined they will have carbon tooling residue that can discolor on the surface without actually rusting the material itself. To prevent that we "Passivate" the parts to remove the carbon. It is possible that this was not done correctly / completely, so I have passed this along to purchasing for Vendor review.

The rust on the MD looks like it's blistering, I'll get some better pics and forward them to you.
