This is actually a pedaling race rather than a sailing event. Most of the TI and AI owners have the fastest pedaling Hobies around, so I hope at least some of you are interested in a little competition! The early notice is allow any who need to, some time to tune up those leg muscles (and make early reservations). A friend and I raced 4 years ago in a TA (stripped TI) and had to race as a "non competitive" class because we were the only pedaling entrant. Nevertheless, we showed pretty well. This year they will designate a Hobie class if at least 5 boats enter. We'll be there again and hope to see at least 4 other Hobies! It's a big race, lots of fun and a great experience racing down the Colorado! 8)

Here's the web site for more race and registration info: https://www.facebook.com/ADRanotherdamrace/

Here are some pics of last year's race showing some of the different classes. 8)

PS. The race is about 11 miles and the good news is that it's all down hill!

Interesting!!!

We are Lake Havasu winter residents (arriving there sometime in October) with a TI and that does look like fun. It looks like you launch and retrieve at two different resorts and Im wondering if its even possible to use a trailer at those spots (my TI is on a trailer). Or best to car top which may not be so bad since we would only be bringing the main hull? Is there a shuttle or do you have to figure out yourself how to get back to where you parked? Registration fee? I tried to find that but looks like you have to start the registration process to even find out.. Thanks for the info you gave, any more would be welcome.
