Chris, I don't see my response post. Maybe I forgot to send. Yes, we hope to do some pre-200 sailing/camping runs and keep you posted so that you can join us.

Well, I'm just about ready for next weeks 1400 mile road trip from Florida to Port Isabel Texas on the border of Texas and Mexico. There aren't as many Hobie islands participating this year (2 or 3) but the extended weather forecast and conditions look pretty good so far. Two of the Hobies will have modified Hobie spinnakers which probably won't get much use other than early mornings when winds are lighter. Spinnakers are more like insurance because if we didn't bring them the wind gods would punish us with at least a day of light wind. Normally it looks like that area gets a strong downwind of 10-25 mph every day. It's not all downwind but quite a bit.

Made a few modifications to my TI's seat to add arm rests, convenient gear bag under the armrests, and a sailing umbrella to protect from the hot Texas sun. One of the campsites that was originally in the plan was scuttled when someone checked it out a month or so ago and found most of it was washed away during Hurricane Harvey last year. It should be an interesting trip and I am looking forward to it and especially sailing in a different part of the country. Hobie islands are a good choice for a trip like this.

Good luck, Captn!

Remember, if there aren't photos, it didn't happen.....

All ready to set sail Jim. I can't wait!

Hey Chris, sorry we never had any shakedown cruises and island camping before the 200 this year. Not many good sailing weekends. I'll post up here if we plan any after the event.

Pat, whats your status?

Thanks Bob, I wish you were joining us. I'll send you a link to my "TrackMyTour" account which records pictures along with a semblance of tracking like spot. Mike & Janice and Don are thinking about bringing their TI's to Texas next year.

Bob and Keith, it would be great fun having the Everglades Hobie island group in Texas next year. Don, Mike and Janice already said they're interested.

Besides Chad's pictures, what got me hooked on this trip was reading the accounts posted on the Texas200 website http://texas200.com (main page on the right hand side by year).

It would be fantastic to get the Florida islanders and the Texas islanders together for week of sailing! Hope all of you can make it next year.
