ok after having noticed that the front ama bungee is loose, I have decided to make some improvement before having some trouble in wavy waters.
I read many posts about DIY solutions but I am bad with DIY and i have also seen that there is a double bungee kit sold by hobie though extremely expansive.
but the question is. since in the front aka of my 2014 tandem i have only ONE pin (i have 2 in the rear aka) where will i put the upper bungee?
I looked for another pin to mount in the aka but I coudnt find it in the Hobie spare parts catalogue. any suggestion?

thanx in advance

The double bungy system I use is actually quintuple redundent (5 thing have to fail, (4 individual bungy's plus the spectra safety line) or weight in excess of 350-400 lbs, before the thing fails). When diving and snorkeling we sit on the AMA's all the time.

If you watch this video in around 1 minute 20 seconds in the video pretty much shows you how it works, (really simple). I recommend around 1/4" dia marine grade bungy, (make sure it's black only, (UV)).

The grey string is spectra string, (same string used on Hobie kayak rudder lines which is like 300 lb test), available from any hobie dealer, (most of us carry extra rudder line in our repair kits anyway, (I just used some of that).

I didn't need to modify anything on the boat itself.

Just pop rivet any type of bungee button to the aka above the existing button. In the parts finder it is listed as #41220001 ‘Eyelet Post’.

The eyelet rivet is 1/2" (12mm) x 3/16" (5mm)
