I attach my spinnaker halyard to the head with a snapshackle. When setting up the mast, I undo this, and insert a 10 foot long (exact length, nor thickness not critical) line between that snapshackle and spinnaker head (this extra line has a snapshackle on one end to facilitate this). The extra length makes it easier to erect the mast and set up the spinnaker snuffer. Afterwards, the extra line is removed, and the original halyard is reattached to the spinnaker head. |
