Has anyone been successful using 2C-Tugs (1 on the bow -1 on the stern) and moved a TI thru soft sand.......instead of a Hobie Dolly ? |

I use 2 c-tugs top move my TI around. I use a pair of 10' PVC pipes (that are also used under the kayak when I put it on my roof rack) attached to both of the c-tugs with long zipties so that the PVC pipes support the weight of the kayak. Based on this, my C-tugs end up about 7 feet apart from each other, with the strap from one of them run through the handles. The one time i tried it on soft sand, I was able to move it down a beach with soft sand by myself, but moving it back up the beach required a lot more effort, and I ended up having some people help me. I just use the standard wheels, so the sand wheels might reduce the need for additional people. Where i typically go I can use a paved boat ramp, and the c-tugs go up and down it just fine. |

I use c-tugs on my TI all the time -go to cart- but not on soft sand. I think it all depends on the type of sand. I never had any luck where I am in OBX NC. They do make a kit that allows the wheeleez tires to fit, however that would be $$$$ for 2 pairs. |
