Hey gang,
I'm back to lurking more esp. here on the Island Boards. Three years ago I stepped into the Hobie Kayaking world and it was (and is still) a good thing. Now I have a 2008 and 2013 AI and I'm mainly getting the 2013 up-to-speed as the previous owner keep it 100% stock. So the purpose here is to share with those users that use google photos (google users with their smart phones saving all their photos and videos to the google cloud). Will google accounts last longer than some of the early 2000's shutterbug/tinypic/etc. hosting sites? Probably? Well if you value your google account and the stuff that's in that account cloud, then probably so.
The issue is that google didn't make it easy to embed directly your photos. They want to make the experience more dependent on other google users to share content. So about 1.5 years ago I stumbled on a way to convert a shared google photos to an address that can be deep-linked in forum bulletin board code. I'm not affiliated with this guy nor do I know him: https://www.labnol.org/embed/google/photos/
Here's a video showing how to embed your google photos. It's how I'm doing it and since the account I'm using to post photos here was created in 2004, I'm pretty sure my photos will be available for a long time in the future (unless of course I delete them).
