Post subject:  Things to know when buying a used TI

So as the title mentions I’m looking into purchasing a used TI from 2013. I’m going to take a look at the boat tomorrow and as a novice to the TI I’m wondering what I should know going in. Any warning signs that would point towards a negligent owner. Also what kind of condition should I be looking for at a $5500 asking price. Thanks in advance for any info!

Here's my checklist I used when I went to pick up mine:

General Cond: no deep scratches or dents
Ama knuckles: no corrosion
Ama knuckles: rivets tight
Mast step down hole: no corrosion
Mast step top surface: no signs of wear
Mast step (fwd hatch): not loose or cracked
Mast step from outside: no cracks
Sail: no damage, loose stitching
Scupper Holes: no cracks inside or outside
On the water: no clunk when tacking
Mast base screw: slotted head (not hex)
Sheets/ropes: not worn
All Fittings: secure (no wobble)
Any modifications (ask)
Rudder mounting: not loose
Rudder up/down and control lines: smooth operation
No water in hull after test sail

Parts to make sure I have:
Seats x2
Mirage Drives x2
Paddles & T-Handles x2
Lowrance Ready Components (but don't really care)
Cassette Plugs x2
Aka Carry Bag?
Battens in sail
Small Parts Kit (batten caps, steering handle/risers)
Spare Rudder Pin(s)
Spare Crossbar Breakaway Pins

NOTE: some of this was derived from another similar post here on the forum. I don't have a link, but you can probably find it. $5500 seems a bit high to me for a 2013 model.

Thank you for the help. Will take this with me. I agree on the price as well. He's been trying to sell it for about 15 weeks now as well so I'm hoping to bring his down quite a bit if I decide to buy. If it were up to me I'd spend the money and buy new, but I can't get a new unit here in Puerto Rico until Aug. 2022.
