The other day I noticed that my AI's mast was loose in the mast receiver on the front deck of the AI. Eventually it became apparent that there is a ring that is supposed to be secure a few inches up the mast from its base but that that ring has become unseated and is now a few inches higher up than it should be. This keeps the mast from being clipped in place when it is seated so it wobbles and moves about insecurely. I haven't been able to theorize how the ring was forced up the mast but, at any rate, it needs to be returned to its normal position and I suppose it should be glued in. I was wondering if any one has attempted this repair and if so, before I make this situation worse through inexperience, might have any advice about how to do this repair correctly.

Many thanks!

Tim
