HELLO ALL
Has anyone installed the AI upgrade on an 06 hull ?
I can't find out exactly why this is not possible. From the info I have so far I think I could do this upgrade and I'm close to just going ahead and ordering the kit . It would be great to hear from someone who has done this or from someone who can explain why this can't be done .
Thanks Bob

There are re-inforcement fittings in the '07 hull to accept AI mast and cross members.

These are not molded into the '06 hull.

Theoretically you could epoxy these in on your own.
I considered it for awhile, and was going to use West Systems G Flex

As my hull was replaced under warranty I did not have to go this route.

Before doing so I would run some tests on G-Flex, and take a close look at the '07 hull, particularly inside at the various mounting positions.

Hi Bob and welcome to the forum.

The cross members that screw to the hull are attached at the gunnels. On the '07's they screw into some brass plates that are rotomolded into the hull.

The '06 does not have these plates and access, particularly to the aft gunnel region is limited. Without reinforcement in these mounting areas, the repeated jolting upward pressures from the amas may detach the crossmembers.

Additionally, the '07's have a second "button" on the bottom of the hull to help secure the "V frame base" that distributes stress from the mast receiver assembly. Your '06 doesn't have this.

By the time you buy the AI kit and risk breaking your Adventure, I think you'd be money ahead selling the Adventure and buying an AI complete! Shop around. 8)

Hello again
Thanks for the helpful answers to my question . I'm a hard headed guy and I'm still tempted but I think that I need to look close at an 07 hull before I do anything .
Thanks again for the info Bob
