Just to remind you all that the dress rehearsal for the America's Cup starts on the 7th - 8th May in New York.

With technological advancements in communications since the last event, I'm sure that the live-streaming for this event will be even better ( if that's possible ).

This will get you started.

Haha.. Keen to know if you're watching via the App, and if so how much luck you are having in getting much sense out of it.
( at 5:00am I have very little tolerance for technology ).

Personally, I don't really have a favourite ( we had our time in the sun ) so I spose I should go for the boat with the most aussies on board.

Always a safe bet.

The first race day, the program was online only and this worked out great. I could closely synch the nbc webcast on my desktop with the iPad 360° virtual view and a live stream of the oracle boats camera (on my iPhone). Naturally, the races were scrubbed, culminating in a royal waste of time and $$$ for all.

The Sunday races, starting @ 8am hst was on nbc sports tv live, and was a real challenge to synch with the apps but I worked it out by the end of race 2. The virtual eye is pretty awesome, but still buggy.

The TV commercial placements, in the middle of the key race moments, were idiotic.

Amazing when it all works though. Maybe Chicago will work out better.

For Oracle, as well.

Yeah, I got it going.... just.... OK. There were a few 4 letter words thrown around that I'm sure they weren't expecting.

I couldn't get a running commentary though. It started OK, then went dead. Then it was all over and I didn't know why.

On the last race, the USA camera was black, like someone put a sock on it. Audio was still there mostly, and oh yeah, Spithill was salty.

Thanks for that mate. I'll check it out tonight. Doesn't sound like the others are interested. But while you're here, are you following the Extreme Sailing Series? We went down to Sydney last year to watch the 8th leg and was so impressed we are off to Cardiff in Wales in a few weeks to watch the 3rd leg. They are GC32's so a bit smaller and about 10 knots slower than the AC45's ( bit like comparing an AI to a TI I spose ) but what a great series. Check out some of the footage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPJ_dKdwfgs

Guess we know who the real seadogs are 'round these parts, Russ.

Thanks for the link, I'll watch it on my break.

And for you lubbers who can't bring yourselves to sit through a whole regatta with the worlds best sailors, here's a snippet of the winning moment.

Kiwis, please feel free to play this over and over again, till you are self-gratified. No hard feelins.
