I have been storing my sail, furled in the bag, on the floor of my garage. I would like to store it up out of the way but was wondering if the sail needs to be supported across its length. If I store it on a rack like in the pictures below, where only the middle portion of the sail is supported (~4 feet), will the mast suffer any damage/deformation?

I put 3 of these equally spaced at the same height in my garage .. also hang the pedals, PFD's and other goodies from them.

I put another 2 under the sail to put the Ama's on ..

.. can't beat the price

The mast with furled sail will be fine stored like that. Carbon is not prone to take a set. On the other hand, remove the battens and store them with more general support along their length. Glass will take a set and keeping them inside the furled sail for long periods will result in a twist. Although... this really doesn't stop them from doing what they are intended to do in the sail.
