What, if anything, is everyone using for storage and/or transporting your Vantage seat and Mirage drive? These two items are typically removed from the boat when transporting. I don’t want to just toss them in the back of my truck. Can't seem to find the right size storage tote for them. So what is everyone else doing?

I have an Oasis tandem so two Vantage seats and two Mirage GT drives to deal with.

For the drives I use two Hobie Mirage Drive Stow Bag (part #80024). They are okay. I really wish the drives could fold or twist to lay flat. They take up a lot of space in my trailer box, bagged or not.

I had the following company custom make me a canvas bag to hold two stacked seats and it works great:

Short day sails.....I stick my seats, drives and outboard in the back of my car.

Longer trips....I store my seats, drives and outboard on my trailer.

Works great.

Why remove the seats? I find them a pain to deal with. When the boat is on the roof rack for longer trips I do put a cargo strap over them as a safety measure. A thousand mile trip is no way to test the stock retainer. The mirage drives do fit in the front hatch with a few old life jackets as padding.

I have not ordered this box yet but it is the best I could find so far. Should fit Vantage seat, Mirage drive, and even the akas. My boat will be kept at my lake house and used by me as a sailing vessel but also by my wife as a kayak. So the akas and amas won't be kept installed normally for ease of use for her.

Figured this box would be good storage lakeside and also good to take on the road.
