Is it alright to store the AI on the nose in a covered protected area? Would the weight on the nose distort the kayak at all? I was thinking of using a large pad under the nose to protect it. I have two options, storing it on the top rack (8 ft high) of a metal storage system (kayak cubby holes) in one of those public storage places or storing it on the nose in a cage at a different public storage place. It is going to be a pain in the arse to get the AI up on top of the 8 ft high cubby holes, so that's why I was trying to check into storing it on the nose.... J |

I'm really not sure, but would probably not want to do that to mine. You could make up a simple frame that takes the weight onto the front cross bar. Should be a better distribution of stresses. Geoff. |

As for a pad on the nose when storing it on end, you might try the inexpensive foam knee pads from Home Depot. The knee pad also works great by putting it on the end of your boat that is on the ground when loading it on the roof of a vehicle. The strap holds it in place. |
