Ive just had my ai out for the first time This year and I'm gonna try and make things a little easier for myself, I.e. A new cart, I currently use a c-tug but find it slipping all the time and really hard to use generally. I've even tried larger wheels but they either rub the amas or the tug itself. What would be the best cart over rough ground? I'm not keen on the scupperhole type as I've read other people's problems with damage to said scupperholes. |

If you are careful when inserting and removing the scupper cart, and lock it on when in use, it's almost impossible to damage your boat. Most of the problems are from carts without the round caps or stress on the cart when it's sliding on of off. The only other problem time is leaving the boat on the cart (especially fully loaded) for long periods. |

I've used the C Tug on various boats, and recently become the owner of an AI. The C Tug for me is useful as it does suit a lot of boats (and has meant I have not needed to purchase a new trolley). I have an extra set of the pads which I modified for a large inflatable. The key thing is securing it to something, to keep in position. With my sitons this has often been by putting it close to the seat, so I can incorporate it in the strap when securing. The AI I have found is best positioned further back and I bring the strap up and around the Ama bar on the hull so it cannot slip backwards. I wheel it with the Amas out, although I'm sure there is a position where it wouldn't rub, or with a mod to the pads to lift it a bit higher. I need to spend some time in the garden with it! If I find the sweet spot I will let you know! It would be useful being able to move it with the amas in come the summer when the beach is busier. |

barber, I've been wheeling my TI consistently in terrain below:  Initially I carted my TI using a single Hobie HD cart. But found having two Hobie HD carts to be easier on the back and stress on carts/scupper holes. I think a four wheeled dolly would be the best on rough terrain and working on fabricating one.
