Post subject:  Mounting Hobie Tandem Island Cradles on Wood Blocks

Hello all!

I have just purchased my first hobie tandem island and i am very excited to get it going. I have purchased both a dolly (regular wheels) and the cradles to support the boat.

I plan to leave the boat at my cottage and want to build a basic frame for the cradles out of either 4x4 or 6x6. Does anyone know how high the dolly keeps the boat up? i was hoping to have a seamless transition from dolly to storage cradles, which wood size would be better? I cant seem to find from the hobie site what the dimensions of the cradles are or what size the holes in the cradle are and what size washers and screw head type i will need for the cradles. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Scotty

Unfortunatly, they are not the same cradles. The dolly cart cradle has about a 6" molded drop under it vs the trailer cradles having relatively no drop.

I don't see how that would matter. He would just need to allow for the difference when mounting the cradles.
