I know they say NOT to store the TI on the Trak-2. Will distort the bottom. But would the bottom get distorted if the TI was kept on two C-tugs, fore and aft? The weight would be better supported. Currently, I keep it right side up just a few yards from the water on two wood frames a few inches high. I place two long PVC tubes underneath along the two long grooves on the bottom of the TI so it doesn't get distorted. I've been taking just the hull halfway into the water with the Trak-2. Flipping it on it's side, removing the cart, and laying the hull back in the water. It is there that I assemble the TI. I then pick up the rear a few inches and push the TI forward until it is totally floated. When I come back, I reverse the process. Very tiring and a PITA. I'd like to keep the TI assembled, with amas retracted, and strapped to two C-tugs. One aft, one at the bow. That way I don't have to assemble the TI each time a sail. Just wheel it halfway into the water, remove the bow tug, push the rest of the TI in, and remove the aft C-tug. Reverse the process upon returning. Remove the mast, retract the amas, cover with canvas and go home. I am 64, and messing with the hull on dry land is killing me. Thanks |
