We (me and a few close friends) have been looking for an active group of Hobie owners to get together for kayaking, camping, fishing, sailing, etc. Most of us live in the Ft Myers area (Cape Coral, Sanibel, Bonita Springs, Estero, Naples). We've found many local kayaking groups via Meetup, but nothing Hobie specific. And there are many Hobie groups on Facebook, but nothing specific to the SW FL area, which is where we live. So, we decided to start one. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/SW-FL-Ho ... 4732291534

We'll be posting dates for future (and last minute) outings, photos, and more. We usually go kayaking, sailing, or fishing once or twice a month and go camping during the cooler months a few times a year. If you're in the area, own a Hobie Mirage kayak (regardless of model) and would like to get together with other Hobie owners, feel free to join ("Like") the group!

Hi Ricky - if you have a local Hobie dealer perhaps you can ask them if they would like to coordinate a Hobie Island Club? If not you can start one yourself and use the Hobie Facebook pages to advertise your events.

Contact Lorraine Garnier <[email protected]> and she will be happy to assist you get your Island Club going.

Barry

Hey Ricky, we've been to a few events put on by the Dolphin Island club in and around Sarasota. If you are up for traveling north sometime, we'd love to meet up with you too. Here's there Facebook page:

We'll like your page too and keep up with your activities and get down there some day.
