Cobblers Beach is located on the northern side of Middle Head. It is a great place for snorkelling around the rocks.

The image this place conjures up is Priceless!! You should definitely head there...

Rokraider, I'm dusting off my snorkel, even as we speak.

So seriously, when are we going ? Today would have been perfect with a nice westerly giving us, not only rapid sailing conditions but as an added bonus, a golden glow to our photos. We should be into break'n records like we have in the past. ' The largest contingency of AI's in the Hawkesberry' or 'The slowest trip by a contingency of AI's from Marks Point to Pulbah Island'. This could have been 'The filthiest contingency of AI's to sail in Middle Harbour since the 1940's.'

Are you going to be affected by the dust storm?

Yeah, that's what I was talk'n about. Incredible day today on the East Coast. Earthquake in Melbourne, Duststorm in Sydney / Newcastle and Fires in Brisbane. The duststorm was so bad, Broken Hill is now only a 2 hour drive away.

Thanks for that video of Cockatoo Island CGM! 8)
It brought back a lot of memories. Back in 79/80 I worked as storeman in the submarine parts warehouse providing the "O" class subs being refitted with parts. Back then it was a hive of activity.
I'd be very interested in a trip on the Harbour where we could stop on Cockatoo. During the week if possible! :)

How about something Wed or Thurs? The gale force winds look like they should subside by then. We could launch from Rodd Point. Should be heaps of parking there during the week, and only a short sail to the island.

Here's some more pics of "co-dock" I took a few years ago..

I actually went for a sail around Middle Harbour and up under the Spit Bridge on Thursday. Great weather although there was a good swell running out towards the heads. Tended to reflect back from the cliffs and hammered from both sides in places. For reference the Spit Bridge has a 6m clearance at high tide. Just have to pick the higher side with the mast up.
