Looking for those interested in attending a trip around Jervis Bay / Sussex Inlet. I don't know the area at all so it will be good to get your thoughts, research the area and plan a great trip. As it will be a 350km's / 4 hour drive for me, I'm thinking of possibly a 3 day 2 night trip. As always, getting concensis on a date is the hardest part. So how about we look at early May as a starter.
( I'd better prepare now and get the cook books out )

I'm good to go - if early May suites everyone. I've even got a dry suit - in case it's getting too cold. 8)

I can be reasonably flexible regarding dates so I'll try to fit in with what suits the group best.
Now where do we start?

Some possibles:
A-Nowra, down Shoalhaven to Jervis Bay (would involve car shuffle)
B-Crookhaven/Culburra to Jervis Bay (shorter than above)
C-Currarong to Jervis Bay and then circumnavigate JB camping along the way
D-Base Camp at Greenpatch (if sites available) and day trip to different waterways

Whatever we decide I'd like to include the Beecroft Peninsula as a destination. It looks spectacular! :)

I personally like Option C. There looks like a good launch site / car park at Dolphin reserve at the end of Beecroft Pde. I haven't measured it out on G-Earth yet but round trip perhaps 50kms which would make it my longest single trip. The last camp site could be Murrays Beach on the mainland close to and protected by Bowen Island.

Are we all up for 3 days / 2 nights ?

Ok with me.
I expect we may face the same situation we had with our BI trip - dates subject to suitable weather conditions.
I think I will plan on being there long enough to accommodate a plan A/B scenario. With the benefit of hindsight, it was certainly the correct call last time to defer to the Thu/Fri rather than the Mon/Tue.

Not sure I can make anything in May. :( I'd need firm dates, which might not fit the weather.

I have booked 2 weeks leave in July though... Brrrrrr
I have nice thermal goodies that I have yet to try. Might get socks next.....

The weather is much more stable and predictable in May down here.
Given that we are planning a 3 day 2 night trip, we probably have enough flexibility to cope with unforeseen weather
Maybe we don't need 2 sets of dates - it's just that I am much further away and probably need to factor in a bit more time anyhow

To try to make a date and to fit in with work, do you blokes prefer weekends ? For me it doesn't really matter as long as there is plenty of notice. If we decide to work around a weekend, I was probably thinking around the weekend of the 8th or 9th May and the Friday before or the Monday after ( or both ). No particular reason for this date it's just that we have to start somewhere. However, if we can work it around weekdays, it would probably be better so that driving there and coming home to fit in with work isn't a rush ( I nearly fell asleep driving back from Shoal Bay ).

Either way is good for me. How about everyone else

I'm not sure if I can commit to three days at this stage. How about everyone else reach an agreement on what suits them best and I will endeavour to plug into the arrangement. If it turns out to be a series of expeditions, rather than one long journey, it wouldn't be a big deal if I left a day early.

OK Chris, stay posted. I'm even think'n of taking a full week off and booking in somewhere down that way.

By the way, could you let me know that Surgeon that you recommended for cutting that BCC off my forhead. I've been putting it off but it's got to be done.

The 7th-10th May suits me fine! :)

Hmmm, having said I'd try to plug into everyone else's arrangements, I'm just wondering if the weekends before and after the 8th-9th May are bad for anyone.

Slaughter, I'll email you about the BCC.

Including a weekend and making smaller day trips would increase the chances of me being able to make it.

The weekend before and after are also OK for me. Just say what you would prefer. Mickey is pretty flexible. If Stringy is as well, then the hard part is over.

P.S. Thanks mate for the BCC recommendation, really appreciate it. I'll book in tomorrow.
