solid metal airfoil sail

A few years ago I read a story about someone putting a 'wing' type metal
boom sail on a hobie cat in Sydney harbor to see how it would sail.

i cannot find it now, and would appreciate help in finding information about it.

I believe Telstra sponsored the trial.. and that it went like the clappers.

Anyone remember this?

Neither of the boats listed above are "navigable." In other words, they are on one perpetual tack. They can't turn.

The Hobie TrFoiler still holds the Class A world record, for speed in a navigable sailboat.
