Had a bad tumble on Father's Day. High winds, and I slammed into a rocky breakwater with fins extended. The result is that the two poles are bent at about a 45 degree angle, beginning around one inch from the housing. Any advice on how to unscrew these? Also, any products I can use to repair rears in the fins? They don't have to work to original spec. Tip: when there are small craft warnings, don't go out, despite those Youtube videos of mariners navigating open ocean channels.

It has been a while, but I think this is what I did. First, remove the fin there is a pin with a ringding holding it. The shaft has flats to take a wrench, simply unscrew. I bought a new shaft but with a vise and a few tries the bend one is not a spare. Be careful not to break the drive that the shaft is threaded into. If it fights you a little penetrating oil and a hair dryer may help.
Before attempting this check utube for videos.
