Post subject:  V-Brace Maintenance

Hey All,

Just wondering how tight the V-brace under the sail should be. I'm not getting any deflection, but I don't want a problem either...

Any suggestions?

When your mast no longer catches, or catches but won't reach its seat fully, you need to adjust it so that it will.

Or, on the other end, when your mast goes down too far and rests on the upper bearing housing, you need to adjust the V-brace so that the mast is lifted clear. If you go too far, you will raise it above the catch, as gwiz says.

I coated mine with Boeshield T-9 to protect against corrosion. Two or more different metals plus salt water can never be good. ;)
