Nicely done... as I mentioned, I rotated mine 90 degrees on those grooves/bars, but didn't even consider that rotating them 180 degrees would effectively reverse the steering. Very nice...

Well, the real world testing of my reversed lever revealed an ergonomic shortcoming I hadn't thought of until I tried it. The position of the lever in relation to the seat is just too low and close--even with the 2" riser, it is back against my hip too far, making it awkward to use without hitting my leg when pulled inward. I need a riser on the order of 6-8" to get the hiking stick above my legs when operating the rudder from the seat. It would work fine for steering from the tramp, but I still spend a lot of time in the chair, and it has to work well there too. Oh well, this is why we try things out. Back to the drawing board.... :x

Bummer. At least you gave it a go, and appreciate you posting the feedback.
Trying to think of a way of making it work - a redesigned lever with a 90 degree bend, that starts out perpendicular to the length of the boat hull, then points rearward? Wouldn't give you exactly the same symmetrical movement either side of straight ahead, but would still be closer that reversed?
