I normally have my mirage drive set at 6 but the right hand side kept jumping into 7, on inspection I found that the pin had worn a groove two thirds of the material thickness deep between 6 and 7, is this covered by the guarantee? If not is it repairable? Pin hole 6 on the left hand side is begining to elongate. |

Reverse the drums (left side to right etc.) and your old #2 hole becomes the new #6 hole. Since the drums are symmetrical, you'll have brand new holes. A couple of new decals and you're back in business! You Scots are known for your thrift -- you might be able to re-use the decals too.  If they end up being covered by warranty, you can keep the old drums as spares.

Thanks for the tip Escondido. These arms do struggle to reach my pockets, unless absolutely necessary. I am an Englishman who has lived here for 30 years so its learnt behaviour. |

Warranty is 2 years. The parts are also easily replaced. $16.50 USD each for the V2 vesrion. Skipping can be caused by incomplete pin insertion, but may also be related to a warped drum. The V2 version holds the pedal shaft more tightly against the drum. There is also more "meat" for the pin to hold under load. |

If you don't change the adjustment often, some of us remove the locking hardware and bolt the crank to the drum with SS hardware. |

Many of these ideas are not mine, just adopted by me and passed on. Many came from Matt and others at Hobie, and much from a great group of early AI'ers that started on KFS (Kayak Fishing Stuff) forum and have since mostly moved over here. Much thanks goes out to Matt, Roadrunner, Gwiz, Yakaholic, Stobbo and many, many others that helped me get started and kept me safe! |
