I noticed while working on my TI today, that the Centerboard Knob was loose and could fall off, possibly overboard. I pried off the cap, removed the screw, added Loctite and screwed it back in tight.

I intentionally loosened mine to facilitate single handing from the rear seat. There's a spring that bolt compresses. I use my whisker pole/tiller extension to lift the knob to raise and lower the centerboard from the rear seat.

I found each time I moved the centerboard, it unscrewed a little bit more.

This is the closest conversation I can find to the issue I have.
After purchasing a near-new 2016 tandem islander, we pulled the dagger board handle clear off during our first use (and luckily neither it nor the cap were lost overboard).

The threaded bolt has a brass collar around the lower portion.

I assume this brass collar is supposed to be permanently fixed into the dagger board itself?
I've tapped it back in, but it just works its way out again when we pull it under normal use.

Should I glue it back in, and can anyone suggest the right glue?

Had a similar issue with my '16 but the insert and part of the plastic broke loose. File a warranty claim and get a new centerboard. I tried fixing mine with epoxy and tie wraps, it lasted for half a sail. Now the centerboard is at the bottom of my favorite lake! New one is great.

I had same problem on my 2016. The plastic cracked at the metal insert moulded into the centre board.
I got it replaced under warranty. Obviously a weak point on a batch of 2016 models.
I have the old glued with gorilla glue and cable ties to have as backup but it doesnt sound promising based on quattroguys feedback.
