A few monthsago I replaced my standard AI seat with the inflatable seat. I love this seat.

Last week while on a two day river adventure I noticed that the seat would deflate after ~20 minutes. After close inspection I noticed that there is a small pin hole in the rear where the seat and back support attach to the hull. There is some wear on the fabric. Looks like grains of sand have worn through.

Before I run out and spend my Christmas money on another seat I would like to know if there is a way to repair this pin hole??? I might also coat the fabric to prevent future wear...

DogsLife,
When replacing my old seat for the new comfy one, it got punctured. We had a Thermarest repair kit and used that. That was about two years and many miles ago and it's still holding :D

Goop and 100 mph tape.
I use it to repair holes in an air mattress.
Just ruff-up the area around the hole with some sandpaper, put a dab of goop into hole, and then put on the tape.
Not pretty but it holds.

Guessing those tricks will work, or any number of inflatable/vinyl repair kits. Might be hard to fix if it's on the edge though.

I'm sure you didn't do this, but It helps to avoid over-inflating these seats, I squish at least 25% of the air out before closing the valve. They feel more comfortable this way too.

I LOVE my Hobie comfort seat - but it failed pretty quickly. It simply tore loose from the velcro section. Near the area you are describing. Anyone else experience this?

There is only a very thin strip of vinyl holding the cushion to the velcro. Once a crack develops at the edge, it will soon tear all the way, like a perforated sheet of paper.

Couldn't figure out a way to repair it so I just cram the cushion under my Okole and hope it doesn't float away while I am out riding the Hakas. Bound to happen someday- and it will be like throwing two $20 overboard.
