I noticed last Tuesday when I was out on the water that my sail has a 1 1/2" long tear in the clear portion. What is the best way to repair this? |

Hobie resells "Tear-Aid". Type A is what you want. Or any windsurf shop could help you out. http://www.tear-aid.com/ |

Clear shipping tape will work for a few weeks, but replacing all the clear parts of the sail will probably be needed soon. A local windsurf shop here on Maui does it for me for $100us per AI sail. A new AI sail lists for $571us, a TI $695us. Causes seem to be age, sun and then anything that causes creases like during transport (tie downs) or storage. |
