I'm a bit surprised at the reluctance to just solve the problem with a few unobtrusive lengths of hi-tech rudder line. The alternatives sound like too much work to me, for zero further gain in outcome.

I took the Spring Clip out did try and expand it, and it broke way too easily! It is plastic that has a weird consistency like bubble gum that has hardened, and breaks! They should be Nylon, if anything?

We should get that part back here for inspection if possible. These are Fiber filled Nylon injected parts. Whhat you describe is very odd. How old?

Hey, if that works for you....Bingo! As said, I kept Parachute line at the ready for any of the four Ama Knuckles, trying to get away! To me though, having the extra safety pin there, already makes an easy day of it....no worries either! Hey, whatever Floats our Boats, huh?

No Biggie, can do! Where, and to Whom, is all I need? I'd say I had expanded it to about the 4 O'clock position, or (+)(-) 30 degrees or so, from it's static position, when it just cracked, a bit further, and it broke totally off. You can try it on the other side when you get it, hopefully it will do the same thing? I think I will buy four new ones though, just so they seat at the same position before I pin them. May I get Price an P/N, please?
