Post subject:  Best material for fixing crack

I have a crack in the stern of one of my amas on the bottom. It looks like it has been dragged on pavement and worn away enough of the plastic to create a leak. What would be the best material for filling this relatively minor crack? The only experience I have had in this general area is using a petex candle to drip and fill gouges in ski bases. I have this material on hand but am unsure whether it would be best.
Thanks,
T2

If you need to return some material to the area, the best thing I could recommend would be plastic welding. Hobie offers the welding gun and can likely provide you with some plastic. I think the kit comes with some plastic strips in various colors. Done properly, you end up with near good as new integrity.

I melted some petex on the spot and it seems to have bonded OK. The real test will be putting it back tin the water--we'll see.
