Post subject:  Mirage Drive Sprocket/Chain Problem
I had to change out a rod and housing (rod snapped) on my Mirage Drive. After putting it all back together, I now have a pressure/click when using. Upon closer inspection a sprocket tooth, instead of moving into place, falls a bit short, pushing the chain up until it's forced into the slot which makes the clicking sound when dropping into its rightful place.

I've taken it apart a few times. Loosened, then tighted both sides of the nuts trying to achieve alignment with zero success. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

The chain may be rotated slightly? May be able to loosen, twist the opposite direction, hold and tighten again? Maybe file the edge of the tooth to better seat the chain as it reaches this tooth?

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it and will give it a try. The cables have "flairs" down near the connections to the chain. I'm sure they're there for a reason...? Is that a chain lineup reference?

Not sure what you mean by flairs. Older drums/chains have threaded ends with no alignment feature. V2 drums have slots and chains with threaded ends that fit the slots... this would not allow for much rotational re-alignment of the chain.

Our factory manager read your post and suggests that it is possible that the center cog is not fully engaged in the chain? This middle tooth is a different shape and requires that the chain be snapped onto it.
