I think Slaughter might need a few layers of those delrin balls to get the height he requires.
You bring up a good point Tony. To raise the mast it's either shim the mast cup base plate or adjust the V-Brace, depending on whose advice you choose to follow.
Lowering the mast your only option is to adjust the V-Brace or shim the x-bar spacer??? :?

But according to what Matt just said (and Tom before him), there is no means of adjustment, and changing the height of the cross bar or tweaking the v-braces will have no effect, if you need to >lower< the mast into the cup.

C'mon Matt, tell us please!

We tried shimming and it didn't work out. Plus, as you shim, you lift the mast off the pin and introduce slop.

It would be nice if we took this subject back to the main thread, where any resolution should be posted.
