There is a dimple on the bottom of my AI hull where the mast sits. It was not there one month ago. Is this something I need to be concerned about? I have not been in any extremely high winds or conditions, but I do sail several times a week for a few hours.

I attached a link and attempted to add the photo here.

All of my Hobies have some undulation in that area as well. The plastic seems stable, however, and none have changed for better or worse.

I have a 2103 AI with the same issue. It was like that upon purchase/new from dealer. Thank you for posting the image. I too am curious to see Hobies response. Hopefully MATT will chime in.

Looks like an artifact of the rotomolding process, at the factory. Like a birthmark. Probably not serious unless you have other symptoms.

Are you having any hull water intrusion or difficulty furlimg the mast? Is the boat stored in high temperatures or direct sunlight?

Wish I could sail my tri several times a week!

I wasn't going to respond as it seems Tom identified it quite well.

Hulls get distortions for a variety of reasons. Some from the plastic shrinking as it cools. If the molded-in hardware is not detached from the mold as it shrinks, maybe molded-in hardware and plastic then shrinking around it. Assembly stresses... hard to say, but sounds pretty typical.
