Probably it's a silly suggestion but did you check if you have mud or material in the mast base? It happened to me once that the mast dust enter properly and it was just that simple issue

I ended up here with the same issue. In my case, my v-brace needed adjustment. The mast was sitting just a bit too high.

sigh...after posting about the same problem https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=71128 I found this post.

I note the reply about adjusting the V brace. Has anyone else tried that and what was the result?
