After a nice couple hour post blizzard sail yesterday (thanks for the 62 degrees mother nature), my seat was difficult to remove when I got home. Looks like bent seat pegs caused this.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what caused it in hopes of preventing it from happening again. I am clueless, absolutley no change in routine post last sail or prepping for this sail.

Happened to my seat in either the 2nd or 3rd sailing season. I assumed it's just wear and tear.

My only guess would be leaning hard on the seat and that forces the seat pad forward. I'd guess when rotated to the locked position they are bent aft? Easy enough to replace if needed.

Weird. Modded to this style peg in 2011 and have over 100 trips since. Nothing out of the ordinary on this trip, actually it was shorter than usual. Still clueless lol

They still work, just harder to install - ordered another set just in case I break them the next time :)

I left my seats 'in' for three weeks sailing off the beach in the Gulf. When I got home the sand, shells, etc. had "locked" the seat pegs in place.

FYI......they are very tough and didn't break off, but the shafts were badly distorted and twisted by the time I finally got them out. Lesson learned, new plugs on order.
