2013 TI, suddenly stopped unfurling mast at the midway point. Can furl perfectly and smoothly. Took the sail off and duct-taped the two mast halves together (per forum suggestion for somewhat similar issue), but no change. All ropes have been re-rigged and are clean of tangles. I’m flummoxed.

Hello,
Do you still have the problem?
I had a similar problem on my 2016 TI, where the base of the mast ( the furling drum ), was barely resting on the mast support ring. It would rotate easily furled, but under a load, with the mast bending, the bottom of the mast drum contacted the top of the support ring ( that houses the ball bearings ), so it became difficult to furl or unfurl under load.
I found the mast base support in the hull to be out of adjustment. A couple of turns, and the clearance between the drum and mast support increased, fixing the problem.

Turns out the mast had been damaged and altered. It wasn’t rotating properly and would hang. Tried a couple ways to rectify, but ordering a new mast
