Hi gang,

Okay first, Hobie has helped with direct communications where in the first obvious issue here is that I have the accessory furling ling guide installed wrong, it's not supposed to be on the top bearing plate, it should be on the bottom plate (upside down), so I will need to look into that. Second is the issue where my 2013 mast foot seems to be a tad shorter from the furler to the foot, resulting in a bit of friction w/o the furling guide and a TON of friction with the incorrectly installed furling guide. So I will either install the furling line guide correctly or just do away with them all-together since I really never had issues with furling anyway. But, I'd like to address the 2013 so that is doesn't rub on the lower furling plate and the upper boat-side plate. Hobie suggests I could adjust the V-frame by tightening the turnbuckles which would draw the mast upwards and make more clearance between the mast and bearing plate. But I just don't see how that would be so? I also am a bit concerned about trying to adjust this V-frame as it's probably pretty set with its age.

Notice how on the 2009 AI mast foot, the extreme lower foot/cap has a smear of epoxy. I didn't' put that epoxy there and I'm unsure if that is factory stock like that? Or, maybe a previous owner drilled out the original rivets and shifted that cap downward a bit and drilled new holes, new rivets and added epoxy? Is this a possible cure to the 2013, would you do this?

Just looking for advice in concert with Hobie's advice which I am not questioning so much as just seeing if anyone else has done anything different? Here's the video:

In the pre-2015 AI's, the shape, and therefor the height of the bow can be adjusted with the 2 turn-buckles in the front hatch. Be careful to try to adjust so the spool is just clearing the bow or the reefing line tends to jam between them.
