PA 14 360 drive squeaks when pedaling. Sounds like cable rubbing. What type lubricant do I need to use. Could there be a problem with drive?

Grease the top cable - when they rub on the drum they make an audible sound on some drives - also watch the adjustment viodeos on the support page for 360- - adjust global and idler cables in-sync - here: https://www.hobie.com/support/mirage-pro-angler-14-with-360-technology/

Any grease that is thick enough it will stick around, not WD 40 or Hobie lube. Marine grease is best, do not worry about using the wrong grease and voiding warrant or damaging cable or plastic.

Hello Jbernier,

First off, This 360 drive is an engineering Marvel!!! I hope that these little bugs can be worked out, and that this drive system gets recognized for the fine piece of equipment that it is!!! I have also been hearing the "clicking sound" coming from the left side of my drive. My dealer was very helpful in adjusting the Idler Cable bolts ( I had already adjusted the Global screw). However, when trying to figure out where the clicking was coming from, I noted that both cables seem to have a ""off centered" orientation. As a matter of fact, it looks like the two plates that the pedals attach to, are not centered. Sort of like, the left side has a wider gap between the plate and the center column, than noted on the right side. This is causing the cables to not line up with the channels (ie the cables are hitting the right side of the channels). I sent pictures of this to my dealer, and hopefully he will send them to you. I love this drive, and look forward to many years of heavy use. So areas where wear would be a concern, I want to take 'extra good' care of. So thank you for the advice on greasing the cables. I hope my comments on this drive system are helpful. And thanks again for your efforts in the development of this awesome drive!!!

Mike
