Post subject:  Evo electric drive on PA rudder ?

The brochure for the Evolution drive states that it comes with a mount for a twist and stow rudder as well as a Mirage drive well mount however the pro angler does not have a standard twist and stow style rudder. Can the Evolution be mounted on the PA's rudder ?

Its the "eVolve"

No, not going to have a rudder mount for the Pro Angler.

We have yet to introduce the system officially. Should be by the end of October. Then we can provide more details.

Surely the PA is the obvious choice for a rudder mount ? Wopping big boat ... it could sure use propeller and pedal power together. Is the only way to mount a eVolve drive on the PA going to be the Mirage well ? Is there a PA rudder mount under development ? One thing not mentioned in the brochure is if the eVolve comes with reverse gear or not ? The #1 reason for me to get a eVolve would be the ability to reverse the boat out of a snag when fishing tight areas.

Yes, it has reverse.

We have been considering a (Pro Angler) transom mount for the motor. It is complicated, the short answer is that it is not included in this initial kit.

Post subject:  ATTN: MATT. STERN MOUNT FOR ELEC. MOTOR ON PA

Hi Matt, on Oct 13th you mentioned the possibility that hobie was considering a stern mount for the elec motor, has anything come of that? It would be great if you could have a stern mounted elec with mirage drive at the same time for easy and fast switching from one to the other. Will that come out as a seperate kit in near future? Thanks in advance. Jim

This is not a short term project. I tried to call our engineers for an update, but... end of the day already. I would guess it will be a few months min.
