I have not yet received my Pro Angler kayak, but looked all over their site and could not find it. Maybe I missed it. Does the Pro Angler have a plug for water that gets into the boat? I imagine the boat being transported either on top of my SUV or on a trailer on a long trip and it's raining out side. I have a 17 ft tin boat and know how much water that can take on just from rain. Can anyone advise if the boat has a plug that can be left open so water doesn't accumulate in the hull? Thanks. |

Hi Don, The PA is considered a sit on top (SOT) kayak which has, for lack of a better term, "sealed" storage area below deck. There are a number of scupper (drainage) holes molded through the hull (in the cockpit and behind the seat) which will allow for the drainage during travel. In the event that water does find it's way into the interior space of the hull, there are two plugs in the stern of the PA to drain any trapped water. I'm excited for you to receive your PA! Enjoy! Thanks. I'll probably think of a dozen other questions about the Hobie and I think I'll be an expert on them before they're delivered. Fished out of one at the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers' Mega Media Cast and Blast in Branson MO. I'm the outdoor columnist for the Chicago Tribune and with my weekly article I have a blog at ChicagoNow.
