Hi, I installed a 5 foot long(4 inch diameter)Yellow pool noodle on both front sides of my PA. It is secured with a yellow floating 3/8 inch marine poly rope. The rope is tied at the front handle then threaded through the pool noodle, then tied at the front of the center boat handle. I hope to have it as a boat bumper, and also serve as a floatation aid for the front(i've read online that the large noodles will float 200 pounds each). As another multiuse it might also help as a splash guard. I was initially concerned that it was going to look rather bad. But after installing them, i rather like the look. The noodles are a lighter Yellow than my boat, but it's a favorable contrast. I hope they work out! Any thoughts on this setup that could cause a problem?

Hi, i'm new here so a picture will take a little while. I'm not set up for it presently, & the summer rush is on! I think that i will add a center support secured to the front sideboards. Basically just a Yellow poly rope looped around the noodle then attached to the front sideboards. This will keep the bumper at a uniform height, and keep the bow higher in the water should the bumper be needed for flotation. I plan to upgrade the rope later if i like the system. This would be a rope threaded through each noodle, then attached to a rubber coated carbinger at each end. This will allow for quick removal of the bumpers(The center sideboard would be quick release also. The bumpers worked super nice today when i lauched off of a wooden dock.

I added 8 of the large pool noodles inside my PA for flotation, can't be too safe ya know! there was plenty of room for the 8 noodles and the noodles don't interfere with the rudder.
