On installing cradles for AI...I just got them and both front and rear look exactly the same. I am assuming that since the amas don't even reach the front cradle when folded in, that Hobie made both front and rear identical for simplicity reasons. I am wondering if I flex them, using some sort of shimming, will it harm them in the long run. The picture of the installed cradles in the trailer websites show them twisted up significantly on the front cradle. Also, since they are 8 in. wide, should all 8 inches be supported, or does just the area under the bolt holes need support? I wish some one had put a bit of thought in the form of instructions to give a little guidance on what the design was intended to give.

The cradles are form fitted to the hull and amas when folded. If you space at 67" and slide the boat forward to fit the front cradle snug... you are good to go.

Sounds like you got two rear cradles by mistake. They should be different.
The rear one is wider and has a "U" for the amas. The front one should only be the width of the main hull.

Missed that point... maybe these are for the Tandem Island in error... or we are talking about a Tandem Island in the first place?

Hummm... Not right. AI cradles are not the same forward / aft. They just cradle the hull under the drive well and cradle the hull and the amas at the aft.

Photos of boats and cradles? You will need to exchange if this is the case.

AI cradles are shown in the catalog quite clearly. Page 27.

Has to be a stocking error here.
