I actually purchased this modification before I bought my PA. Picked up the PA last Saturday, and installed the seat Sunday morning. Took the maiden voyage on Sunday afternoon. The nice feature with the sliding seat is that after I had my peddles adjusted for the perfect silent propulsion, I could slide the seat forward which allowed me to get a little more range of the fins, but with a hull slap. Then I could move the seat back and go silent. Easier than adjusting the peddles. Maiden voyage was everything I thought it would be.

These seat adjusters are on sale at Cabela's Bargain Cave for around $58. Add some more stuff to make it $99 or more and shipping is $5;

Add a swivel to the seat for about $22

I got the seat pedestal and cut it to three inches. I might add the swivel.

Based on the many recommendations on this thread I also bought the slide before I even had the PA. I put it on tonight in about 10 min with no problems whatsoever. Pice of cake and awesome mod. Thx guys

I installed this mod today. I am currently blind in one eye (temporary) and as a judge, totally non mechanical. This took me 20 minutes because i put it on backwards the first time. Make sure to use stainless hardware and grease the slides liberally before you put it on. I am 6'2" and this will give me a lot of extra space. Whoever dreamed this up desrves a thank you.

Just did the mod too. This is awesome, I was worried with my short legs I was going to have to put wooden blocks on the pedals! My heels would hit the hatch cover with the Mirage drive in the position I needed to pedal comfortably.

I just did the mod tonight. Only problem that I had was I took about a half hour trying to remove the Phillips screws and webbing off the seat. I thought there were nuts on the mounting bolts. Needless to say there were none. So after that it was no problem and the mod works great. I can not wait to hit the water in the A.M. to be able to get in that center box with ease.

I got the universal slide mount delivered today. It only took about 20 minutes to install and get the seat back in my PA12. Took it out for a test drive and it's much better now. Thanks for the tip on this!!

You did this on a PA 12? Please explain, I'm drinking. Kinda in a how and why thing. Kinda like installing a rubber after you already nutted.
