Lag bolt on the bottom through the winch mount.

I see now....missed that before. You have cut the 2x4 so that it slides over the winch mount. It looked like it was behind the mount. Duh on my part.

I just picked up two pieces of 2" PVC on Saturday to us on my TraRac ladder rack. I'm going to mount them to two 2" x 4" in between the ladder tie downs. I'm also using a 45 degree elbow on the ends to help with sliding my PA up on top. I will post photos when I'm complete, probably in March when I have time. The water is a little hard up here.

I am looking at a jet ski trailer with 48" bunks. Is that long enough or should I either be looking for longer bunks or a different setup?

On the water experience: I love the stability and vantage seat height option, standing is very stable (not at all wobbly as some have reported), maneuvers on a dime - almost too sensitive at first but quickly got used to it! - more storage than I think I need, and I swear I was moving faster than I was in either my sport or my i9.

Help Please: What do you mean "itfloats across the middle"? Not sure what floats means if the PVC is bolted to the 2X4s. Thanks for any help.

The PVC isn't completely rigid. It will blow and flex to mimic the hull troughs on the PA. When Steve sets his PA on these PVC rails, the pipe will deform, bowing down and outward in the middle to match the shape of the PA hull troughs.

As long as the fore and aft mounting points are spaced identical to the PS hull troughs at those locations, you're supporting the boat along its stiffest/strongest points and allowing the rails to conform to the boat, rather than making the boat conform to the rails.

When lashing down the boats, do you just go over the sides and across the top or is there a better way? And do you tie down the bow and stern as well?

If there is anyway to paint/cover/wrap the pvc pipes you should do so. The sun is the worst enemy of pvc. It will weaken the pvc and become brittle. It always breaks at the worst time.

I'm not sure, but think there is a grey version of pvc that is also thicker/heavier. It is supposed to be more resistive to UV.

Otherwise, perfect way to carry your PA!
