Post subject:  Tmporary rod holder?

A kayak fishing relative will be visiting from out of state in a few weeks and I would like to get out with him on a few inland lakes. I have a fully rigged PA, and a 16.5-ft SI touring kayak. Since he cannot bring his yak, I would like to temporarily rig the touring kayak with at least 1 rod holder. I don't want to drill any holes in the hull since this will probably be a once-only deal. I saw this clip-on rod holder ( http://www.cascadecreek.com/yakcatcher.htm )
advertised in Kayak Angler magazine, but then read some reviews elsewhere that said it was pretty useless. Any other suggestions?

If it's just temporary and for a day or 2, I think a clamp on holder is your best bet. Several companies that make them, or mounts for them (including Ram, Scotty, etc.) Otherwise, you could go with a Johnny bar setup, but you would need some eyelets installed, or already there to tie it down to.

Thanks for the tip. Ordered a Scotty clamp-on mount. Should do the trick!
